Backstory
Cadeyrn used to be one of the archangels of Sinaria, but sacrificed himself to seal away the demon lord Azarial.
Ever since when, he has resided in a number of human hosts, while the people of Sinaria slowly started forgetting about his existance until no one but the people dedicated to protect his hosts knew his name anymore.

As a celestial being, he is both detached and mysterious, but acts gentle towards his hosts.

As an archangel, Cadeyrn is a being of extreme power. He has almost unlimited magical potential, but because of him having to share a human body, his powers are restricted to how much power the host can wield without dying.

Despite being scared of his presence and power at first, she slowly grew to trust him more than she trusts herself and finds comfort in knowing that he is always with her. She often seeks his advice and Cadeyrn tries to console her when she is feeling lost.

First appearance: Resounding Echo – Chapter 6(Voice)/Silent Sound – Chapter 2(Appearance)

She was standing in an empty garden, but she knew she was not alone.
She looked to the other end of the garden where he was standing, watching her.
He was beautiful. His face was elegant, yet masculine. It was framed by long blond hair, so pale it glistened white in the evening light.
His graceful frame emitted an otherworldly glow, making it clear that he was not human. He was watching her from across the garden with pervasive gray eyes.
She smiled as she crossed the garden towards this beautiful being. Even though she had never seen him before, she recognized him immediately. How could she not? He was part of her after all.
“Where are we?” She asked and spun around herself, suddenly feeling oddly giddy.
“In my temple.” He said, smiling at her childish glee. His voice was light and deep at the same time and sent pleasant shudders down her spine.
She stopped spinning around and looked around thoughtfully. The garden was beautiful and well-kept, and the walls surrounding it showed no signs of decay. This had to be how it looked in his memories.
“Is this a dream?” She asked, still feeling oddly elated.
“No, it isn’t.” He was still smiling.
“But it isn’t real either.” She said lightly.
“What makes you say that?” He asked quietly.
She turned around and gently placed her hand against his cheek. His skin was cool against her palm, and she smiled at him sadly.
“Here I can touch, be close to you.” She said quietly. “If this had been real, you wouldn’t feel so real to me.”
He smiled at the irony, the sadness in his eyes mirroring the look in her own.
“I’m always close to you.” He said and leaned into her touch.
“And still so far away.” She answered with a smile.

First appearance: Silent Sound – Chapter 4

“Excuse me…” A soft voice said behind her. She turned around to see a young woman, dressed in priest robes. “Are you Lady Selissa?”
Lady? She thought disbelieving. What had the High Priest told them about her?
“Just Selissa, please.” She told the priestess. The other woman smiled and bowed her head to her.
“I’m Ashe. I was told to greet you and make sure you got settled in.” She said, a soft smile on her face. Selissa couldn’t help but immediately like her. Her honestly kind smile reminded her of Calen.
She was slender and only slightly shorter than herself. Her features were as soft as her smile, framed by wavy blonde hair, giving her a dainty beauty. Her eyes were an icy blue that would have seemed cold on anyone else, but here only managed to add to the soft image.
“That’s very kind of you, Ashe.” Selissa said and couldn’t help returning the smile. Ashe’s smile widened in return and her eyes twinkled in the waning evening light.
“It’s my pleasure.” She said and seemed to mean it. “Let me show you the way to your room.”

Backstory

First appearance: Resounding Echo – Chapter 1

She was so lost in her thoughts that she almost missed the sound of footsteps. Her head snapped up when she noticed the sound and scanned the garden for the intruder.
A young man, dressed in priest robes, stepped into the garden and walked towards her. She relaxed immediately when she recognized him.
Calen had been an apprentice at the temple when Selissa first came there. He was one of the people who had found her lying battered and bruised outside the sanctuary grounds all those years ago, when she was taken in by the temple’s priests.
Even though he had long since passed his exams and had become a priest, to her he was still the same as back then. The years hadn’t changed his boyish, but kind face much and he still had the same shaggy, blond hair that gave him a permanent disheveled look.
“Skipping Mass again?” He asked, as he approached her. There was no accusation in his voice, and the smile on his face told her that he was more amused by her actions than disapproving.
Some of the tension disappeared from her shoulders. Calen was the closest thing she had to a friend and being around him always made her feel at ease. “I’m not skipping. I’m just not attending.” Selissa answered promptly, before realizing how stupid it sounded. Calen’s smile widened and he let out a chuckle.

Her and her brother had to flee the war-torn areas of Ver’Dohna and traveled to the temple of Issara to seek sanctuary.

As a child, she was very shy and scared of strangers, because of the resentment people held towards her because of her mark.

Nijel
Her brother is the only person she truely trusts, because he has always protected her.

First appearance:  Resounding Echo – Chapter 2/Quiet Whisper – Chapter 1 (Major role)

She watched as the people approached, most of them shooting wary looks around them.  By now, paranoia was so deeply settled in them that it would probably follow them for the rest of their lives.
A young girl stumbled on the road and fell to her knees. The hood on her ragged cape fell from her face and long, bright red hair spilled out from it. But it wasn’t her hair that caught Selissa’s attention.
On the girl’s face, right under her left eye, a black mark was tattooed. Even though it was the first time she had ever seen someone with such a tattoo, she recognized it immediately.
The Mark of the Cursed… She had once seen a picture of it in one of the library’s books, but never thought she would meet someone who was Marked themselves.
The Mark of the Cursed got tattooed on people who were influenced by demonic magic. They were considered outcasts and were often hunted down when people saw the symbol on their cheek.
A boy, probably a few years older than the girl, helped her to her feet. Selissa noticed that many of the temple’s residents who were passing by were staring and whispering among themselves. The red-haired girl lowered her head and tried to look as small as possible. The boy kept his hand on her shoulder and glared at the nearby people, who were suddenly in a hurry to get to their destinations.

Special traits: Celestial traits
Ability: Healing
Ethnicity: Sinarian

Occupation: None

Backstory
Seymour is the child of Arnath, the Archangel of healing, and a human woman.
Due to his heritage, he was taken in by the priests at the temple of Arnath where he grew up.
His mother is not allowed to live at the temple with him and having never met his father, he was left almost without family.
The priests at the temple are devoted to him, since he’s the son of their guardian, but he doesn’t believe he deserves their respect simply because of his blood and wishes to be treated normally.

He feels estranged because people treats him differently as a result of his angel blood.

As the son of the archangel of healing, he heals anything that comes into contact with his skin.

Relationships

Selissa
Seymour holds a great deal of respect and fascination towards Selissa, both because of her personality and because of the fact that she is an archangel’s host.
Because they’re both strongly involved with the archangels, they understand each other better than most other people do. Through the course of Silent Sound, Seymour starts developing feelings for Selissa.

First appearance: Silent Sound – Chapter 5

“Are you okay?” A soft voice asked carefully as if not to startle her. Her eyes widened when the owner of the voice leaned over her to see if she was awake.
She had never seen so beautiful a man. Soft blond hair framed an otherworldly face and hung into gentle blue eyes, the color of which reminded her of the sky after a storm.
She was briefly reminded of the archmage Serendia, but not even she had had such a seraphic beauty. She remembered the stories she had heard about the angels who came to take away the dead, and she imagined this was that they had to look like.
No matter what had hit her, she hadn’t thought it had been enough to kill her.  Had it?
“Am I dead?” She asked as she rested the back of her hand against her eyes. Her head sure hurt a lot for being dead.
The creature beside her let out an amused laugh. It was a beautiful sound. Soft and pure, but human.
“No, you’re not dead.” He laughed. She moved her hand so she could see him. Amusement was dancing in his eyes, a human emotion that didn’t quite match his angelic appearance. Apparently he wasn’t a servant of Shaelar, the angel of death. She supposed dying could wait till another day.
