Release of Quiet Whisper!

I’m so proud of myself lately. I have just moved and I have been very good at remembering to do all those things you need to do: Tell the postal service you moved, get a new social security card, notifying the Danish Nature Agency that you relocated your owl.

However, apparently I can’t remember when I’m publishing a book. Which was yesterday…

So to those who didn’t pre-order: Quiet Whisper is now available for order on various ebook retailers and as paperback on Amazon and Createspace!

Find it here:

Amazon

Smashwords

Apple

Barnes & Nobles

Kobo

…and several more.

The victims will be many as long as war is part of human nature…

A chance meeting with someone from her past causes Selissa to once again find herself in the middle of someone else’s fight.
This time her unusual task involves neither angels nor demons, but leads her into the heart of Ver’dohna where a war is raging between the military and the Rebellion. And while she is far from home, she is still offered new allies.
All she has to do is rescue a man from the executioner’s axe, right in the middle of the most heavily guarded stronghold in Ver’dohna…

KoyoCon 2015 – The Owls are Coming

Koyocon 2015

It’s convention time again!

This time it’s KoyoCon that opens its doors for the third time 6.-8. November.

This year, some part of me apparently thought focusing on a single task was a silly idea. Usually, I either go to a convention as an author or as part of the convention crew.

This year I will be working at KoyoCon as part of the Warcrafter Corner. I will also be in Artist Alley selling books. Oh, and I’m going to be a judge at the Cosplay Catwalk contest.

That’s only being two or three places at once at any given time. No problem, right?

In Artist Alley I will be selling my new book, Quiet Whisper, for the first time and I’m so excited about that! It’s the third book in the Angel’s Voice series and at every convention I attend I have had someone come up to me and ask when it was coming out. It has always filled me with equal parts warmth and guilt, but now it’s finally here!

In other fun news, since I live close to the convention location and KoyoCon’s mascot is an owl, I will be bringing Artemis the Burrowing Owl for some of Saturday. People like owls and Artemis likes to be admired and look at weird people. Everybody wins!

You will also be able to find me at the Warcrafter Corner. This time we’re sharing a hall with Firebase Hydra (who I mentioned in my SVScon 2015 post) and since they’re displaying mostly Warhammer-related crafts and the Warcrafters showcase, well, Warcraft costumes and props, I might have tried to bully the KoyoCon organizers into naming the hall the War Room.

I’m pleased to say I succeeded!

In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, the Warcrafters are a team consisting of myself and a group of fellow cosplayers specializing in World of Warcraft crafting and we hosted our convention corner for the first time at HydraCon 2015 this summer. We must have done something right, ’cause we were soon invited to do it again at KoyoCon and this time it will be bigger, better and with 100% more owls.

Lastly, I’m going to be judging the Cosplay Catwalk on Sunday. It’s my first time judging a cosplay contest instead of participating in one and somehow I’m almost as nervous as when I’m going on stage myself.

That’s all for now. Hope to see you at the convention!

Watch out for owls.

At the Hands of the Lich King

A couple of months too late, I realize that I completely forgot to write anything about Koyocon 2014! Of course, it wouldn’t really be relevant, seeing as I had to cancel my planned author booth in the Artist Alley due to working as part of the convention’s event team this year, but you guys still missed a lot of neerdy goodness!

I’ll skip over the part about my friend brushing a blonde wig on a mannequin-head shaped like Arnold Schwarzenegger or me spending my free time stealing huge fake weapons. Just wanted to share my favorite geek-photo from the weekend(and in case some of you haven’t seen my Alexstrasza costume yet, yes, that’s me nearly getting decapitated by the Lich King):

Returning From Hibernation

Let me start out by saying that 2014 was a great year for me. It was a great year for hanging out with old friends and a year where I met many new ones. It was a year where I challenged myself like I never had before and came out on top. Not only did my personal life work out well, I also started at a great new job after rotting away in a classroom for so many years.

However, 2014 was a truly awful year for writing.

An unwritten law seems to say that I can’t both be writing and be happy at the same time. The times where I have felt the most inspired to write is when I have been absolutely miserable. Be it when stressing over finals or slowly going insane from insomnia, misery just seems to be the fuel that drives my writing.

And that means, since I have generally been content with my life this past year, that I barely written a thing. Half a short story and a single novel chapter is probably putting the estimate high. I just haven’t been feeling it.

But 2015 seems to have brought with it a new load of determination! I still have so many stories to be told, and now I’m going to sit my ass down and actually tell them! In the last week, I have already written more than I did in all of 2014, so I’ll just have to keep going.

Of course it means I have been fairly miserable in January(so much to do at work and I started the year out with a lovely case of the flu that just won’t seem to let go of me), but if any unexpected wave of happiness comes my way, I’ll be sure to beat it back with a stick.

…or maybe just pull through it and write anyway. That might be healthier.
