Smashwords Summer/Winter Sale 2019

Fantasy Covers

Fantasy Covers

It’s time for Smashwords’ annual Summer/Winter sale!

These sales keep creeping up on me. I am in no way ready for it to be July. I was supposed to have achieved so much by July. Before you know it, it will be December, and then it’ll be 2020, and then we’ll all be old and gray, and I’ll still be behind on everything.

Ahem.

Sale. Right.

The Summer/Winter sale will run for all of July and will include soooo many free or discounted ebooks. So many. Probably thousands.

(You realize you have been doing this for too long when it feels like you can’t even come up with a way to make free shit sound interesting…)

And yeah, my books will be part of the sale. But as I assume most people following my blog will have already gotten said books if they wanted them (since I’m too damn slow to have published anything new since last sale), I’m going to encourage you all to check out some of the other great indie publishers offering discounted books.

Resounding Echo – Excerpt (Chapter 27)

Excerpt Resounding Echo

Selissa took a shaky breath to steady herself. “If you’re not here for me,” she said slowly. She knew that if he really wasn’t going to hurt her, she should just get the hell out of there and put as much distance between herself and him as humanly possible. But no matter how frightening she found him, there was also something about him that made her pause. “Then why are you here?”

His grin widened and Selissa felt the blood freeze in her veins. She had never met anyone who made a smile look so unnerving.

“I had some…” Ardeth paused for a moment. “Business to take care of in the area. And I decided to pay this place a visit while I was here.”

Selissa shuddered at the way he said the word ‘business’. She wondered how many innocent lives were lost every time he had business to take care of.

So… How’s the Writing Going?

Angel's Voice books

Angel's Voice books
After redoing my website earlier this year, I have made an effort to keep the blog updated. But you might have noticed that it has included very few writing-related posts, so I thought I would give you all a little update on what I’m doing lately.

I’m proud to say that I finished Ghostly Scream, the fourth book in the Angel’s Voice series, last fall. However, I’m not quite ready to send it off for editing, and I can’t give you a final release date yet.

But I’m working on it!

One of the reason it’s taking me so long is because I’m also working on revising the old books in the series. It’s something I have wanted to do for a long time, and I finally got around to it. I won’t be doing any major rewriting, but the writing will get a round of polishing, so hopefully it will match the shiny new covers all the books are getting. Can’t wait till I get to show those to you!

The work is going slower than I’d have liked, but it’s steadily coming along.

In the meantime, I hope you’re enjoying my weird, random and geeky posts on this blog, even if they’re short on book news these days.

Trust me, when I finally have news, I’m going to have so, so many of them!

Quiet Whisper – Excerpt (Chapter 35)

“Right, I forgot I was working with the good guys for once.” Selissa sighed and rubbed two fingers against her forehead. “Just don’t blame me if there actually is a curse and we run straight into it. I refuse to be held responsible for your martyr tendencies.”

“Look who’s talking,” Darius said sarcastically. “Remind me again, what exactly are you getting out of this, except for a clear conscience?”

He might have saved her life, but Selissa was beginning to think she didn’t really like Darius at all. At times like these, he was too much like her and she never really get along with herself to begin with.
