I’m currently working on a new short story (read excerpt here), and today I got the artwork for the cover! As always, it’s made by the incredible DeviantART artist ZKROX and as always he did a hell of a job! I already put in an order for a finished cover from Qulr, who designed the covers for Resounding Echo and Silent Sound, so I should be ready before long. Until then, enjoy the raw artwork!

More Sketches!
Yay, more sketchy goodness!
As I promised in my first sketch post, I had loads of sketches lying around. Last time you got some sketches with a story behind them, but this time I’m just going to show you random favorites of mine. Sounds fun, no?

This one is just pure awesomeness on a paper… As usual, I love both the sketch and the finished version, but they each give off a different feel. I like the expression on the sketch better, but it’s still amazing in the colored one.
Anyway, this is another masterpiece by ZKROX. Actually, I think all the sketches in this post will be his work…
This is the sketch of my favorite piece of artwork to date. It’s also pretty clear from the sketch that the artist spent a lot of time on it as there are tons of extra lines on this one.
This is one of the few where the expression of the character carried well to the finished piece. Normally, it seems to lose its intensity when it’s colored, which is also why I love having the sketches as well!
This is the first piece of artwork where I actually like the sketch better. ZKROX did a wonderful job, as usual, but the characters just didn’t come out right in the finished version. It was supposed to be a very tense situation, but that isn’t conveyed at all in the characters’ expressions…
And don’t even get me started on the fact that Ardeth look kind… The day he starts acting kind, I’m putting him down!

That will be all for now! I still have several sketches left and I’m sure more will come around in the future.
Kudos to ZKROX for doing these! Swing past his gallery on DeviantART, he has more awesome work there…
Sketches
I was looking through some files on my computer and I found a lot of book-related sketches. Some of them are really cool and I thought it was a waste just having them lying around on my hard drive!
Here’s a few of them:
–
This was the very first drawing ever made for the Angel’s Voice series! And yes, it’s a smoking skeleton…
This came into being when I asked my good friend Hans Christian(aka Qulr) for ideas for the book I was going to write. Of course, people who have read Resounding Echo can guess which character this ended up being, but at the time I really didn’t know how I was going to fit a smoking skeleton into the story!
This one should be easy to recognize! It is, of course, the first sketch for the cover art of Resounding Echo! It was also the first drawing made of the main character, Selissa.
I remember nearly squealing with joy when the artist sent me this. I’m really not a squealy kind of person, but this was just so much better than anything I had pictured in my head and I still love it to this day.
As much as I like the finished version, I think the sketch captures the character even better. She just have that look in her eyes…
Let’s continue with the cover artwork! This is the first sketch of Silent Sound’s cover art and also the first drawing of Seymour. I don’t know why the artist initially gave him long hair, but it is rather fetching on him, isn’t it?
Last but not least, the sketch of the Huntress artwork!
For this one, I asked the artist ZKROX to try out a new style, instead of the manga-like style he used for my other covers. The result turned out really well, even though it ended up looking a lot different from the original sketch!

I think I will stop here for now, but I have lots of sketches laying around. I might post some of them later!
Huntress Artwork
–
The beautiful, beautiful artwork made for the cover of Huntress! My cover artist, ZKROX, really outdid himself this time! By far one of my favorite images done for my books!
Selissa and Ardeth
–
Once again, artwork made by ZKROX. This time it’s the characters Selissa and Ardeth.
Not a favorite of mine, as Ardeth’s expression doesn’t quite fit his character. He looks… kind *Shudders*
But still great work done from the artist!
