Koyocon – The Convention Madness Continues!

So… I haven’t really been to a convention in a while, have I? I mean, it’s been two months since the last one!

It feels like I just got home from Genki, but now I find myself packing up books to go to Koyocon. Luckily it’s only an hour drive this time!

Koyocon is a small Danish convention which will be held for the first time this year. I’m not sure how much there will be to see since it’s just starting out, but as it’s close to home I’ll take my chances. Not to mention, I know quite a few people behind the project, so I thought I would be supportive!

The convention runs from 8.-10. November and I will have a table all Saturday in the Artist Alley. As per usual, I will be selling books and posters, so you have the chance to bring home a shiny copy of Resounding Echo or Silent Sound.

Oh well… I got packing to do!

Genki, Here I come!

Genki Con

Watch out people, I’m going in!

I’ll be leaving for Genki later today and I’m already quite sure that I’ll be forgetting something. Oh well, it’s not like the convention is on the other side of the country or something…

…Wait. It is! Let’s see, tickets, books, bullwhip… *Continues rummaging through her bags*

Anyway… As I wrote in my earlier post, you will be able to find me in Artist Alley most of the weekend. I’ll be selling paperbacks and posters, and I’ll love to chat with people if they come by! A lot of people came to talk to me during SVScon and I really enjoyed it. And only like half of them talked to me only because I had a spare chair at my table. Whee!

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to finish my costume, so I’ll stick out like a sore thumb in my regular clothes. Maybe I’ll put on a Halloween mask and scare children…

Are you going to Genki? Then remember to throw me a message or send me pictures afterwards if you talk to me at some point!

Firing Up For Genki!

Genki Logo

It’s time for another convention (didn’t I just get home from the last one…?)!

After two successful years at the Danish J-Pop convention SVScon, I have now graduated to the bigger Genki, which will be held from 30. August – 1. Septemper this year. It’s on the other side of the country, but that really doesn’t say much when you’re in Denmark, and it has twice the audience of SVScon. I’m so psyched about it!

As with SVScon, I will be found in the convention’s Artist Alley area(Table F. Isn’t it cool that it’s big enough to have lettered stands?). If you come see me, you will not only be able to get a signed copy of Resounding Echo or Silent Sound, you might also get to see me in the ridiculously revealing costume a friend of mine convinced me to make for this convention.

It’s a J-Pop convention. When in Rome, do as the Romans… (I’m probably going to regret this)

But enough about that. Don’t worry, there will be pictures once it’s done.

As usual, you will be able to buy both paperbacks and posters at my stand, but come around if you just want a chat as well! Or, you know, if you want to see me dressed as a skimpy dragon…

SVScon Author

As I didn’t want to fill everything into one blog post, I decided to post pictures from this year’s SVScon here! I attended as an author, selling and promoting my Angel’s Voice series. You can read about my weekend here!

If you were at SVScon and have any great pictures you would like to share, post a link in the comments and I will upload them! I would especially love pictures of you if you came to talk me in Artist Alley or if you have a great one of your costume!

Another Crazy Time at SVScon

Artist Alley SVScon BooksAnother great convention has come and gone and I sit here, completely exhausted, but with a good feeling in my stomach!

This was my second year attending the danish J-pop convention SVScon as an author (Read about last year here). Last year was a great success, with a lot of interest in my debut novel, Resounding Echo, so I was really excited to be there again this year. Even more so because this was the first time the sequel, Silent Sound, was available for purchase.

GASP!

Yes, I said it. The guests at SVScon were the first people able to get their hands on a copy of Silent Sound. It’s finally ready and I enjoyed showing off the brand new paperbacks at my stand in the Artist Alley.

But fear not, Silent Sound will be ready for purchase as both ebook and paperback at Amazon within the month, and as soon as possible as an ebook at every other major retailer. If the stars are with me, it might even be next week!

But let’s get back on track…

This year I could be found at my table both friday and saturday. It’s always fun to be at a J-pop convention. ‘Cause really, who wants to talk to some guy in jeans and a t-shirt, when you can talk to a completely masked person splattered in blood?

…Okay, I admit a couple of those guys terrified me. But really, it’s so much fun to see all the people in costumes. And SVScon, despite being a J-pop convention, has a very wide range. Instead of just focusing on japanese comics and music, there’s a lot of people dressed up as characters from western movies, comics and games.

There was almost an entire Avengers-team (I don’t think anyone invited Bruce Banner, though… Poor green guy), and Batman and Robin ran into the Joker and Harley Quinn as well. There was also a couple of zombies from Left 4 Dead.

What really terrified me, though, was a masked guy who looked like some mutated horror version of Santa Claus. I have NO idea which character he was supposed to be, but he was way more creepy than someone dressed in what looked like a full-body santa hat should possibly be.

Oh, and did I mention that the Grim Reaper stopped by?

Sigh… How come I can never go anywhere without it turning completely insane?
