Huntress Cover Art Revealed!

Though it suffered much delay, I can finally show off the cover art for my upcoming short story Huntress!

The cover art was once again painted by the talented ZKROX. Someone should give the poor guy a medal for putting up with me…

Huntress will be out in November, and remember to participate in the Giveaway in order to win a free Kindle ebook!

Book Signing Jitters

Books, check. Reservations, Check. Nerves… Double check.

To those of you that don’t know, I’m going to be at SVScon this weekend.

And the bad thing about focusing on the ebook market is that this will be the first time meeting my potentiel readers face-to-face. And frankly, I’m scared to death.

Okay, okay, I know I’m being melodramatic, but it’s my blog. I’m allowed to be.

It’s so easy only dealing with people on the internet. You have plenty of time to think about your answers so you might actually sound intelligent(People don’t have to know that you used an hour thinking about the best way to answer if you like the color green…). And I can always choose not to read my reviews.

If people stop at my booth and pick up my book, I have nowhere to run to avoid hearing them say if they love or hate what they read. And I really like having the opportunity to run!

Don’t get me wrong, I love hearing from people who have read my books! But at the same time I fear it.

I think the anticipation is the worst… I have never had problems after hearing someone critisize my writing, but the waiting time before knowing if people are going to say something negative kills me!

I’m definitely in the wrong business. If I ever get successful enough to frequently have my books reviewed, I will die from the stress I put myself through every time I know I have a new review, but can’t bring myself to read it and get it over with.

But back to the book signing… I really can’t just avoid opening my email or block certain people to avoid hearing others’ opinions, can I?

This seemed like such a good idea when I agreed to it…

Well, you can look forward to hearing all about it if I survive the weekend! I will be sure to take pictures for those of you who can’t attend.

I will also be back to blogging about the business of indie publishing after the weekend, so feel free to send me relevant topic or news you would like to discuss in the following week!

Resounding Echo Back on Barnes and Noble!

——

I’m happy to announce that Resounding Echo is once again available on Barnes & Noble’s Nook, as well as other platforms!

Like many others I enrolled into Amazon’s KDP Select Program, which requires you to keep your ebooks exclusive to Kindle and Amazon’s retailer sites.

From the start, I had a lot of doubts about the program and it took long before I finally gave in and enrolled Resounding Echo. Though it did help sales for a short period, it seems like some of my fears about it are getting realized.

I read the Kindle Direct Publishing’s forums every day to hear from other authors, and it seems like everyone have suffered greatly from the Select Program.

So I have no doubts about not renewing the contract and putting my books up for sale on other platforms again.

The ebook will now be available on:

Amazon

Barnes and Noble

Smashwords

BookTango

Make Your Offer

Apple iBookstore

Sony Reader Store

Kobo

Remember that Resounding Echo is also available as paperback:

FeedaRead

Createspace

Make Your Offer – The Social Ebook Store

Make Your OfferIf you’re following me on Facebook or Twitter, you have probably seen me mention MYO already. In fact, I love to mention it to readers and writers alike!

To those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, here’s a quick overview of what Make Your Offer is about:

Make Your Offer(MYO) is a brand new ebook store which offers a whole new way of selling and buying ebooks. All books have the same retailer price as it would have on any other online store, but you can choose to accept offers on your books as well. Some might not like the idea of people being able to offer to pay any lower price than the set retail price, but that’s okay as well! You can just set your book as not accepting offers.

Unlike other larger retail stores, MYO also offers more free promotion of your book. For example, mini-games revolving around books and covers that randomly shows your book covers among others. It’s a both fun and non-intrusive way of getting people to view your book.

As something entirely new, MYO now also allows artists to sell their artwork on the site. That means that you don’t necessarily have to use free-domain pictures for your book covers. You can easily buy a piece of finished art, or contact an artist with a style you like and ask if they would be willing to make something for you.

Add to all that, I’m really loving the community! No other site gives you such a friendly and tight-knitted community as I’m experiencing on MYO and the creators of the site are present in the forums and not only listens, but also use the ideas and suggestions the members come up with(As a matter of fact, the idea with including artwork seems to be inspired from a conversation with me!).

I really think everyone looking for new places to sell or buy books should take a look at MYO. Or maybe you just want a friendly community of writers and readers? I can only recommend you to take a look: Make Your Offer

BONUS: Is your book in KDP Select? No problem! You can still upload it without violating Amazon’s contract and receive offers. You just have to wait with selling the book until it’s out of the Select program. Smart, right?

Going to SVScon!

SVScon

I’m thrilled to announce that I’m going to have a booth at this year’s SVScon in Denmark!
Together with the always wonderful Hans Christian(Who will be selling his artwork as well as promoting his webcomic Subrosa) I will be attending the convention in their Artist Alley area.
I’ll will be signing printed copies of Resounding Echo as well as selling posters of the official artwork. I’m really looking forward to talking to other book lovers!

For those of you that don’t know about SVScon, it’s a danish convention that revolves about japanese popular culture. That includes everything from music to movies, and you will be able to find just about everything represented there. Comics, games, books, clothing, art and countless other interesting(And often very weird…) stuff!
It’s being held in Herning, Denmark in the beginning of May and is this year the weekend 11-13th May. You can visit the website here: svscon.dk (The site is in danish, though!)

To everyone going, I look forward to see you! To everyone else, I will be sure to upload pictures of the event!
